Fun Wedge Finds for Under $50

As I have mentioned many times over, I have a sick obsession with shoes. However, what I have not expressed is that it is actually deeper than that. Of all of the shoes I am most obsessed over, it has to be wedges. Not only do I love the way they look, but I also love that they are far easier to walk in than most heals. So, today I decided I would introduce you to 10 of my favorite wedge finds.

1. Blowfish Wedge - $47.99 at Amazon

I'll admit, these wedges are a bit odd. However, aren't most of the shoes Blowfish make unique? I would say so. What I like about these shoes is that they are so unique. They seem to have a tighter fit to the ankle, so dresses or skinny capri pants would look best. Plus, I think the price is fairly reasonable. I tend to spend less on my goofy shoes, but I think for the quality of shoes Blowfish makes, it is a worthy investment.

2. Michael Antonio Penny Loafer Wedge - $44.00 at Zappos

To start, my philosophy on wedges is the higher the better. I love wearing high wedges. I do not think my physical therapist would agree; however. Yes, I spent a month or so undergoing back treatments for wearing all of those stilletos a couple of years ago. I can say that wedges are safer, but also be careful that you can drive in them. You may want to opt for some driving shoes once they get to this height.

In any case, I have been eying these shoes for a while now. I love that they are suede and ultra tall. I also kind of like that penny loafer look. I think this would be super cute for work with a nice tighter fitting skirt and a cute button down under a black tank sweater. Or, you could wear them under a longer pair of jeans. It will elongate your legs making them thinner looking and the toe of these shoes would be super cute under a boot cut leg.

3. Camilla Lace-up Wedges - $29.40 at Urban Original

So you knew I couldn't get through a shoe list without posting some shoe choices from Urban Original. I should really look into running their social media. I digress, I love these lace up wedges because they can be cute with a little skirt or a pair of jeans. They are simple, suede, and just tall enough to give you an extra inch or so of height. I think they are a great basic addition to your shoe collection for a great price.

4. Bumper Zena Sparkly Wedge - $26.50 at Urban Original

Of course a second Urban Original choice. I know these are going to appear even crazier than the Blowfish shoes, but I love these wedges. The best part is that the black sparkles are already out there, but they also make a gold, silver, and multi-color option. I personally love the purplish multi-color choice. They remind me of Jeffrey Campbell's shoes of which makes them even more attractive to me. I think they would be really fun for going to the club or spicing up a simple outfit. They would be cute with a simple, yet trendy dress choice or even jeans or skinnys. I love them, do you?

5. Michael Antonio Ankle Strap Wedge - $58.25 at Amazon

These are totally a cheat, I'll admit it. They are obviously over $50, but I couldn't resist. Of all of the shoes I have had on my wishlist, it has been these. Since I celebrated my graduation from Graduate School by purchasing a pair of Jeffrey Campbell wedges, I did not buy these Michael Antonio's; however, I seriously think about them whenever looking for good stuff to post. In fact, I was watching Pretty Little Liars the other day and noticed that Hanna was wearing a pair of similar shoes in red. It reminded me of these and I had to do a wedge blog post as a result. They are super high and the ankle strap is just an awesome touch. If you recall the striped dress top I chose from Lily Boutique yesterday, this pair of shoes would look super cute in an outfit together. My recommendation is absolutely give them a chance, you will not regret it.

6. Bumper Sandal Wedge - $25.08 at Make Me Chic

I'm not really sure where to start with this pair of sandals. They are certainly different, sporting a rounded heal and thick straps. However, I couldn't turn away when searching for great shoes to post. I guess I should share a little secret about my style choices. When I used to shop at Old Navy all of the time, one of the ways I would pick out which shirt choice to buy would be by choosing the one no one else would purchase. I kind of like the challenge of choosing the ugly cute option so that I can make it look cute with whatever I am wearing. It makes my style unique and shows me I can make something out of nothing special. I believe these shoes may fall into that category since I couldn't think of too much to say. I think that the play on geometric shapes would look good with stripes or an angled cut shirt. I would probably find some flowy asymmetrical shirt to wear over a pair of skinny capris to make these look really cool. They are almost a contemporary look. I think they will turn heads for sure. Plus, at $25.08 per pair, I'm not sure there is much to complain about if you do like them. If you find you dislike them, you can go back to my archive where I made my old Steve Madden shoes into a Jeffrey Campbell knock off and make your own new pair.

7. Miz Mooz Brown Sandal Wedges - $49.99 at Piperlime

There are two things I like best about this choice. First, I like how the pattern of the cork changes in the back of the heal. It is kind of a neat detail that really makes this pair of shoes stand out. The second detail I like is the ankle band. I really like the look of ankle strap shoes. It seems to thin out your ankles and make your legs look leaner. They are super chunky, so dress choices may be difficult; however, I think they would be cute with shorts, capris and obviously jeans.

8. Asos Wedge Gym Shoe - $31.03 at Asos

This pair of shoes is super crazy. When I looked at them all I could think is that whoever buys them must have a specific outfit in mind. They are absolutely your pair of Reebok's with a contemporary twist. I think what made me really attracted to them was the material and the color. It's a nude suede shoe with a thick sole to add some height. I think these are certainly a challenge to dress up properly, but they will be a good topic of conversation. I am thinking dark jeans and a super cute shirt; however, nothing too fancy. Maybe you have or can find a shirt that mimics a sportier look. They would be really cute to wear to a basketball game.

9. Miss Me Black Wedge - $29.99 at Piperlime

This pair of shoes is actually a Rachel Zoe choice on the website. I wasn't particularly impressed by that, but some people may be. Still, I really like these and I am never a huge fan of that thin strap that goes over the toes. I find it almost uncomfortable looking, but I don't get the impression that it will be true with this pair of shoes. Miss Me is a cute and affordable brand and the fabric at the top of the shoe is really fun. These are definitely a pair of shoes you can wear under long pants, but I don't see why you would want to unless you wear them everyday because you love them so much. They are definitely shoes that you want to stand out when wearing an outfit.
