Just Try It On - Hair Edition

While we are on the hair theme, I figured lets keep it going. If you are anything like me, you like to change things up. Wait, what's that? It sounds like a theme coming on? Yes, I know, I like to re-invent myself often in the fashion department. What fun is life if you don't try new things. One thing I like to change up aside from make-up, hair color and style, is hair cuts. I have had a pixie, long layers, short punky dos,
angled and regular bobs. I just like experimenting with my hair to see what looks nice and what I can avoid the next time. However, one thing I have learned is that if you have any issues with your face, whether it be nose, chin, face shape, you always want a haircut that doesn't accentuate what you hate. This can be somewhat scary since you can't try on a hair cut. But wait, you can now! In one of my many internet exploring days I found these wonderful internet make-overs. If you haven't heard of them, I'll let you in on my secret.

There are at least half a dozen of these websites. Essentially, you upload your picture into a web-based program (no downloading necessary) and then you can try on make-up, hair, glasses, etc. My favorite of the lot is Taaz. It is free and all you have to do is sign up and upload your picture. You will want to choose a good picture head on with good lighting or else your make-up colors will be off. Once you do all of this, the website will guide you through some steps to identify where your eyes are and lips. You go through this series of steps that may take five minutes and then you get to play. I admit the hair doesn't always look real and make-up colors can be off if your lighting is funny, but it is still a really great way to check out styles you have never worn. The site is dominated by celebrity hairstyles, but lets face it...they use the best salons in the world, they are going to have cutting edge style and color. If you want to see a sample, look at the pic below. Those eyes are not my own. I will admit, one of the fun things about these makeovers is you can try color contacts. I have had many different colors, but when I do the makeovers I like to add my green contacts in because my eyes always look brown in these pictures.
