Even as young as most of us are, keeping our skin healthy is truly one of the most important parts of keeping a positive self image. The only problem is that most of us know this and still don't do what is necessary to ensure it doesn't happen to us. For instance, most women don't start inviting wrinkle creams and eye creams into their regimens until their 30s. This is an issue because damage to your skin started when you were just a little girl running around at camp. One person I do know who has always taken care of their skin is my mother. She has been wearing creams and moisturizers since her teenager years and any creases she has are negligible compared other women her age. This was also something she taught my sister and I years ago. So, today I wanted to talk about a line of drugstore products I think are great.
My mother used to be a big Mary Kay fan. She would have the parties and buy all of the products. My sister and I loved this, but it all kind of fizzled out when her Mary Kay lady retired or moved away (I forget which). So, within the past couple of years she started using Olay products. They are a bit pricier than I would like to spend on any product, but as far as I can tell they are extremely effective. Plus, the best part is that CVS makes a line that are very similar and some of their products are just as great. I can't really get into too many specifics about what products work best or why. I am not an esthetician or dermatologist and it would be horrendous for me to lie about being an expert. So, I will just share the one product I love. However, I encourage you to look at the most current issue of InStyle as they had a great article on what products to introduce into your skin care regiment at different decades of your life.
First thing I would say is stick with the regenerist line. This seems to be the higher line part of the Olay brand that boasts some good stuff.
The second thing is that if you are out of ideas for what skin cream to buy next, purchase the Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream. I absolutely love it, love it, love it. It is thick and the texture does not feel oily. It is very hydrating on your skin and I feel like it really made my skin look nice. I bought it a couple of times, but happened to be in a CVS looking for it when I found their version. I wish I could tell you the real name, but I can't. Unfortunately I went back to the Olay product and don't have an old bottle lying around. However, it is the same packaging in shape, color, and dispenser. If you have a CVS nearby I encourage you to look into it. It isn't as effective as the Olay brand, but it is darn close for a little cheaper.
I should be at my mom's this weekend and I will rummage through her cabinet so I can share the rest of the products. So, more info to come! In the meantime, here is what the Olay product looks like that I am suggesting.
