As I have mentioned multiple times, I don't do make-up tutorials because I am not a make-up artist. I am just a girl who loves fashion and make-up, but I am not a professional. I just really love to share my views on things because I feel I am just like all of you. However, I also like to think of my blog as a shopzilla or shopstyle. I want to point you in the direction to get the things you want from one easily accessible place and the products should be rather affordable or I can at least pick something out that is cheaper and comparable. So, with that said, I tend to like to post a video I like and then strongly urge you to visit their youtube channel or website to learn more.
Oh, and also, I have been dwelling on this since I posted it. In my brush post I felt like I may have come off a little self-righteous and wanted to clarify something. Make-up artists are where I get my inspiration to try new things. Since I am not in the business and rather virginal to blogging, I don't have sponsors or receive samples or new products to try and review. So, when I made my comment about memorizing brush numbers, it wasn't to be nasty. I think all of these talented gals and gents love what they do and are very passionate, I just don't really get into the technical aspects because I am generally not going to teach you how to get the looks they are so talented at doing. For intance, I am still getting acquainted with the craft of blending. I feel it does you no justice to watch me blending because I am not great at it. However, I am learning and that is my goal for all of you. We can build a community of learners and since I like to experiment, maybe you can get some inspiration or ideas on what to buy without having to purchase the whole damn cosmetic department at Walgreens to find something.
Okay, soapbox over. So, the point to this post is that like many other things I pick apart about myself, I also have hooded eyes. Hooded eyes are more or heavy upper lids that hang over your crease. It is the reason why any pictures of my eyes that I show are generally with my eyes half closed, looking down. As Marlena will explain in the video, people are either born with eyes like this or it sometimes happens with age. I was born with hooded eyes and the issue is only exacerbated by my allergies. So, when I found Marlena's video, I was oh so happy because I am sick of spending time doing rainbow lids only to find that you can barely see them. I guess it sometimes works to my advantage because I can wear really crazy colors on my lids and it isn't too overwhelming, but it also creates some issues if my lids get a bit oily because my make-up will either blend together or just come off.
I tried this exact look yesterday and received many looks. None seemed judgy or nasty, so I took it as a good sign.

ENJOY!
Oh, and because I mentioned blending. If you are looking for a master of blending, check out Michael James's videos. He is a cross dresser from London via Brighton, and he is just utterly fabulous. I think his blending techniques are something that we can take some inspiration from even if we choose not to go as dramatic and bold as he does.
