Loreal, You Make My Waves Happy

As mentioned in my previous blog about the InStyler, I have a kind of strange wavy hair I can't seem to control. This stems from three problems. The first is that I am stubborn and insist on having my hair cut for straight styles. If you didn't know that this was possible, it is. When a stylist knows how to cut curly hair, she/he will generally twist a section of hair and then cut it. This is a technique they teach to have textured ends so that the hair will be lighter in some areas instead of weighing down and then should shrink up better. BUT....if you have ever known someone who always, always, always wears their hair curly, but then straightens it one day, the ends will tend to look a little odd when straight. So, if you have wavy hair, you are kind of stuck making a difficult decision. Do you get your hair cut for curly hair when you know it will probably not curl, or do you get it cut for straight cuts and then it will not be as wavy? I opt for straight looks because I know I can just get my hair trimmed regularly and protect it with heat sprays and other products.

The second issue is that my hair is also thick, so it is heavy. This means that I will have nice voluminous waves on the bottom, but the top will weight down. It isn't a pretty sight at all.

The third issue is that I have a colic in the front of my hair. I actually didn't realize I had it until recently because it is rather insignificant, but it does cause some problems when my hair is worn curly.

Yesterday morning I decided I was going to use my Clean & Clear Black Head Eraser instead of my normal exfoliant. If you recall, the Black Head Eraser is just like the Neutrogena Wave. It is a little vibrating apparatus that you attach exfoliating pads to the top of and then you use it to clean out dead skin on your face. I don't think they actually make the product anymore, I know I bought it a couple of years ago. If you are interested in it, you can purchase it from Amazon for like $26.99. Still, I think this is a lot higher than I paid for it, so you may just want to look into Neutrogena's product instead. Well, in any case, I was looking for this little top piece that I couldn't find and actually found something more interesting. I found a bottle of Loreal Vive Pro Glossy Style Curl Spray Gel. Wow, that is quite the mouthful of a name isn't it. I bought the spray gel a really long time ago and I recall it kind of being a bit crunchy in my hair so I never used it again. I was feeling kind of lazy yesterday, so I decided I would use it and wear my hair natural. I sprayed it in all over my head and then did my make-up. I completely ignored my hair the whole time, so when I went to take a look before attaching my diffuser to my blow dryer I noticed I didn't have to blow it dry at all. It was so strange. The product did exactly what you would want it to do. It make my hair full and defined waves. I was so impressed because I have used a ton of different hair products and I have never found a single one I really loved enough to buy a second bottle. However, this stuff works pretty well.

It looks like they sell it at Walgreens if you are interested; however, they do not have it for sale online. I saw it for $4.99 on drugstore.com though. So, I can imagine you will pay around that price at stores like Ulta, Target, Walmart, CVS, etc.

To style my hair all I did was towel dry, run my fingers through my hair and scrunching it in sections. I then flipped my head over and sprayed the product generously through the hair to make sure it covered every part. I let it alone while I did my make and literally had to do nothing else. I think I may have used a little too much spray because it was a bit crunchy, but as I scrunched it throughout the day it started to relax a bit and I think it looks really nice!
