1. Black Sock Boot - $28.90
As you will notice, although these boots are more on the cheap side price-wise, some of the shoes on this post will be a bit pricier than usual. Please keep one thing in mind as you scroll, close toe tends to equal higher prices. If you think about it, it makes sense. When you spend money on regular-priced shoes at DSW or any other shoe store, boots or fall and winter shoes are always pricier than summer shoes. So, when you are comparing a price for these boots at $28.90, think about how much you would spend on similar boots from DSW. It would probably be at least forty to sixty dollars more!
I really like these boots for a couple of reasons. The fist part is the sock detail at the calf of the boot. Not only does this detail add some style to the boot, but it will also keep your leg a bit warmer when the temps drop and it will allow you to avoid drooping. I am not certain how deep this sock detail goes into the boot, but you could probably feel that they will look best over skinny jeans or leggings or even a really cute dress or skirt. I am not sure if they will fit nicely over a pair of jeans that you plan to fold the cuff into. That make create some bunching and perhaps some discomfort.
Another detail I like is the heel. I really do love my shoes tall, but first it is hard on your lower back and second it does not lend a helping hand to the wintry streets. Heels of this size and thickness will allow you more footing when walking those snow filled or icy streets once the winter hits. Also, who can ignore hte buckle around the ankle. That details gives these boots a fun edge.
2. Gray Closed-Toe Bootie - $45.20
I am kicking myself now because I saw these booties by an original designer and can't remember who it was. However, these are pricier probably because they are for the colder weather and they are knock-offs. I have been eyeing these booties since they made their way to the web a month or so ago. I love the buckles across the ankle, the color is cute since it can be hard to find cute gray shoes, and lastly, who can ignore that heel detail. It is kind of out there, but it is cute just the same. These wedges are definitely high, so you will want to get used to them by wearing them in the house first to assess your walking ability. You may laugh, but I had to do that with my Jeffrey Campbell wedges because they are seriously like four or five inches off of the ground. Even me, an experienced heel wearer even fell wearing them because I wasn't used to it. They also come in black and brown, so whatever color you like best, this shoe will compliment your wardrobe and get people asking you about them. Seriously, I generally buy multiple pairs of shoes from Urban Original and people are always asking me where I buy my shoes and how I an afford so many cute shoes. Well, my secret is Urban Original because you can find so many styles at such reasonable prices.
3. Stylish Lumberjack Boot - $36.20
One thing that has made me happy this past year was the re-emerging popularity of flat bottom boots. Although heels are my go-to choice because they add height, thin your legs, and are generally just more feminine, it can be really rough to get a good season's wear out of heeled boots when you live in Chicago like I do. However, when I saw this pair of boots I wanted to kiss the ground. Not only are they a feminine mockery of a classic lumberjack boot, but they have a heal, which makes them super cute and stylish. They do come in at least black also, but the brown is more authentic to the look. I would probably wear these with a pair of skinny jeans and a tighter, or contouring fit flannel to really play up that look. If there is nothing I like more than cute clothing, it is taking something ordinarily masculine and making it a really feminine look. These boots will certainly help that agenda.
4. Leopard Wedges - $45.60
Again, these are a knock-off of a designer shoe of which I cannot remember. What makes these a knock-off is not only that the materials are probably cheaper, but you can see this is a fake leather rather than suede. Generally, the designer shoes are a high quality leather or suede that probably looks a lot better. Still, I really like these shoes, they catch your eye easily. They have that detail that makes the heel of the shoe a part of the body of the shoe in that it isn't your usual wooden or cork wedge with a patterned shoe, but rather it marries the two. This has been super trendy in shoes over the past couple of seasons and I really like it, it's creative. I generally don't opt for prints on my shoes because they sometimes limit what you can wear with them, but if you are going to spend less money to buy a pair of shoes with a print, I don't see how you can avoid adding these to your cart. They are pricier than my usual shoe purchases, but while that is true, can you imagine what they would cost if they were not fakes?
5. Beige Buckle Booties - $31.20
This pair of booties were my favorite find today. I love the rounded toe with the spikey heel, the color is very very nice, kind of bordering a grayish beige and the details are really great. I like the wrinkled detail, ankle flap and buckles around the back. They are certainly platform pumps, but I can just pick out like fifty outfits I would want to wear these with from a dress to leggings or even under a pair of boot cut jeans. I don't usually like hiding my shoes beneath a pant leg, but I love the way it looks when you see someone from the side and you just see that heel and toe of the shoe. For some reason it just translates in my eyes as a classier and more put together look.
6.Beige with Ruffles Wedge - $26.20
These wedges are somewhat of a steal. Although they are open-toed, so you can't wear them when it gets too cold, they would be cute option for the next couple of months. The ruffles are super feminine and again they are beige, my shoe color of the moment. The ruffles have become a popular shoe detail as of late, and normally that would turn my head. I say that mostly because I have hated some of the volume or lack thereof in the ruffle shoes I have seen. Some make your foot look really voluminous and awkward, and some look like the detail was an afterthought. However, this pair of wedges gets it just right. I like that the ruffles stop before the toe, so they don't take up the whole shoe and then you can see the strappy detailing.
7. Beige T-Strap Stilettos - $26.40
Now this pair of shoes is a "let that be a lesson to ya" pair of shoes. They are made by Liliana. This is a brand I am not all that familiar with and I tend to ignore the brands on Urban Original because I generally have never heard of them. I guess the nice thing about Urban Original is that most times you will find shoes by Bumper or Qupid and you know how they fit and can easily understand the quality. However, once in a while, you get a pair of shoes like this one. If you look at the picture below, it may be kind of hard to tell, but on the website you can get an enlarged view of the shoe. If you look, notice the toe where the sole meets the toe. Do you see that irregularity? Basically, what is happening here is the fabric from the shoe is pulling away from the sole. This could be a poor glue product or just bad fabric, but no one owns these shoes yet. If you notice that, avoid them. This means they are too low quality for what you are looking for, especially when it is over 20 dollars. My insider tip today is always, always, always look at an enlarged view of the shoe before purchasing. If you can determine that a poor glue job was the culprit, you may wish to purchase them anyway. I tend not to have a huge problem with that because perhaps just that pair of shoes in the picture has it. However, if you can see what I see in this shoe, it is a complete "no go." Just because shoes are made from cheaper materials and sell for cheaper prices does not mean you deserve a product that awful. You still deserve to have something you are proud to wear. This pair of shoes, as cute as I thought they were just aren't worth it when there are six gazillion others that do not have these issues.
Happy Shoe Shopping!
